Press Release

Bayo Park & Galleries is pleased to present our 2025 annual fall exhibition entitled, “A Sinful Fall – F – SaG-C” on October 24th & 25th from 6-8pm in Batavia, IA.

Bayo Park & Galleries is a unique 10 acre sculpture and art park owned by artists David & Reena Olaniyi in Jefferson County, IA.   The park is a living, hand-built Heavenly peace park, a continually growing, work-in-progress nestled between rural American corn and soyfields.  Every year, the couple opens the park for art lovers in their community to see/experience the development of their artistic expression in this dynamic social, political, economic, and creative environment.

The artistic experience at Bayo Park & Galleries is based on the idea that “Life is a Performance” where objects interact with objects in space due time.  All the objects and the artworks are born through the two artists’ daily interactions with life, land and material on the park, hence the title of this year’s show, “A Sinful Fall-F-SaG-C.”  The artists make art of power that speaks, powering the world, performing life.  The art objects visitors experience at the park are born through the artists’ daily performative grinds relative to family, community, county, state, nation, and world at large, relating performatively to all.

This year’s event will feature a new never seen before large-scale outdoor art and light animated installation.  This year’s show is an object of a creative annual yield, an accumulation of thought and processes between the care, living, and performative making on the park with a vision towards building a unique Heavenly artistic destination, a living exquisite masterpiece natural to the local surroundings.  The annual exhibition is the fruit for the care of the land by the two living artists.

“A growing baby turns into a teenager before becoming a grown adult – A BEING. It is what the park becomes in the coming years that is an object of fascination.  Come next year, too and see artful growing wonders.  We all gather to be inventively wiser and smarter,“ states park director David Olaniyi. Featured artworks available for acquisition are a selection of works birthed from daily performances derived from the couples’ artful life on the land. “We and the land are saying, we live here, we create here, we perform here, as an object interacting with other objects yielding one-of-a-kind rare object art – come see the artful and physical product of our presence here.  Feel it, experience it – a creative, thoughtful environment, a soulful, spirited enlightenment.”

Visitors are encouraged to come and share in a creative, positive energy.  They will be able to enjoy new art installations, walk and experience the sacred organic energy of the park implanted in the ground through the year-round care, view collectible art works and meet the artists.  Bayo Park & Galleries invites all to be a part of this artful journey.

Admission is free for all.  For more information or directions to the park, please visit bayogallery.org or contact us here.

About the Show

Objects interacting with objects in space, due time.  New ideas are born balanced-ly between old, new, sacred, and physical realities through our interactions with thought, family, park, tools, material, community, society, nation, all as objects, relative to our society and world in time.  Creative originality of art is of utmost importance to us; We create anew yearly – each time with every object – finding product art in our creativity.  By mid-year a new art idea is formed for our annual show, while we interactively live and work on our ten acre sculpture park and galleries.  We produce creative art in our daily performative activities, cumulatively generating art objects forming each year’s original show.  The title is birthed from the reflection of our humanity’s four realities – what is old that is new, and what is of sacred understanding of our physicality.  The physical idea is relative to our life, interactive happenings in our surroundings, country, world like a pebble rippling water – micro to the macro, seen/heard and unseen/unheard, in time.

Each annual show and fabricated works of art are all objects of power of a unique kind.  Some are finished by the time of the show, while others are still in progress until the following year or acquired.  In the winter months, we generate original digital printable images available as single-edition or limited-edition prints.

2025’s annual event “A Sinful Fall – F -SaG – C” was an interactive and experiential walkthrough fusing site specific installations, multi-media art, sculptural object-making, and digital art performance.  The original sculptures, installations, and the whole show “A Sinful Fall” are available as a packaged art piece or as individual works.

“A Sinful Fall” was a four part installation designed to be viewed day or night.  First, a permanent installation,  KQ “The Shack” related to our human interactiveness with digital information today, introducing the audience to the idea of “A Sinful Fall.” The second site specific installation calls the viewer to journey towards the form of “A Sinful Fall” and answer the call of an object erected to serve metaphorically as the sins of humanity, which later fell to the natural force of the wind, fulfilling physically and sacredly the idea of “A Sinful Fall” that fell.

The third installation is a hand-crafted, permanently-fixed foundational structure of the most unique sculptural gallery entitled, “Gbariye,” the circular open spread, symbolizing a welcoming embrace.  The fourth aspect of the show is a performative multi-media staged, open air LED light masquerade entitled, “Laiti/Lighty,” designed to shine light on humanity’s woeful darkness.

The audience is invited to journey through the digital presentation of “A Sinful Fall – F -SaG – C,” digitally interacting with the objects and art.
