Power is like an egg – if held too tightly or loosely, it crushes or falls.  “A Sinful Fall” form was a standing sculpture (17.5ft  x 8ft x 6.5ft) designed to interact with the natural environment – shining in the sun, gleaming in the moonlight, giving a silent soothing, humming sound, while gently dancing in the windy nature just like the trees and grass that surrounded it.  The large-scale object stood uniquely apart, yet was part of nature, representing power, the structure of power, how power relates to the people power governs, and the fragility of power.  When power corrupts, power becomes sinful, making it vulnerable to various forces – in this case, the force of wind. It is the flimsiness of power that makes this object vulnerable to the force that it hummed and danced to, falling to it. 

“A Sinful Fall” form was fabricated from a locally recognized and used material – galvanized metal cattle panel.  It was designed to float in space with each stacked trapezoidal form standing at 8ft x 4ft x 6.5ft.  The shape changed to view as the audience walked around the object, revealing the various angles, faces, and shapes of power.  To create each trapezoidal form, a 50 inch by 16 foot cattle panel was halved, then stacked in three to form the skeletal structure of “A Sinful Fall” form, and later skinned in 70 yards of grade 60 cheese cloth translucent airy fiber that allowed light through, and slowed down the breeze of air that passes through the forest brush.

The cattle panel structure of “A Sinful Fall” is a work of art generated for our 2025 annual show.  It can be reconstructed and strengthened for sale, or morphed to various forms relative to space, telling a new story. Please contact us for inquiries.
